Zombie-Billy Show   by Anastartem

There’s a common belief which has to do with gender psychology that all the online games aimed at spotting the differences are targeted at the ladies’ audience as the female players are more attentive and have the capacity of concentrating on the smallest details. However, such a view is proved to be only a stereotype. Nowadays the difference games are created featuring diverse story plots, heroes and graphics that can be attractive for both genders, and sometimes such games would manage attracting male attention even more than the female one… A free online difference game “Zombie-Billy Show” just proves the above mentioned statement.

This is a typical online photo hunt game in which you are supposed to spot the differences between two images. The main heroes are Zombie, his two sinister buddies and his girlfriend with scars all over the body. The player should depict the differences while Zombie is taking a ride in the car, hanging out in the bar with his fellows, singing as a rock band on the stage and so on.

All the images of this free online game are painted in dark cold colors to add dramatically the mysterious air. Black, purple, gray and green shades constantly dominate on the pictures so no wonder it can turn to be difficult to spot the difference as the objects blend in with the background. That’s why you may want to play using the hints. If you get stuck or wait for too long the transparent circle appears indicating the location of the difference. If the player slows down and fails to detect a difference until the time is up, he is punished by a penalty: a certain amount of points is taken away from a total score. Remember that you are given 200 seconds for each level and 5 differences to spot.

A free online game “Zombie Billy-Show” may suddenly change your opinion about difference games in general by introducing the unexpected bloody rock-a-billy motifs. Check it out now!

Forever In Blue Jeans — “Forever in Blue Jeans” was inspired by guitarist Richard Bennett’s wonderful opening guitar lick which he first played for me while we were out on the road. Something to Sing About

$12.73

Something to Sing About tells the story of TNT (Family Matters’ Darius McCrary), an African-American ex-con. While TNT is standing in a grocery store aisle, an elderly woman named Memaw (Irma P. Hall, Patch Adams) overhears him singing and admires his voice. She invites him into her home, feeds him, and ultimately helps lead him to Christ by turning her television to a ministerial broadcast during supper. Now reformed — with a new recycling job that he finds through one of Memaw’s friends — TNT begins a romance with Memaw’s granddaughter Lilly (Tamera Mowry, Sister, Sister) and finds new life in the church choir. But a friend steeped in gang violence, and disapproval from a local elderly man threaten to dampen TNT’s spirits — until a surprising twist brings him unexpected media exposure and attention as a singer. Produced by Billy Graham through his World Wide Pictures video label, Something to Sing About is a warmhearted, family-oriented drama with evangelical Christian themes. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

Lift Every Voice and Sing

Lift Every Voice and Sing

Max Roach grew up in the church. His mother was a gospel singer. Few albums exhibit the church’s lasting effect on his musical direction than Lift Every Voice and Sing. It’s deeper than the album title. Roach invited the J.C. White Singers to accompany him along with tenor saxophonist Billy Harper’s heart-wrenched solos. With all due respect to Roach — who at the time of this recording was a legend and perhaps jazz’s most impactful drummer to date — Harper and the choir are the stars of this show. Listeners who aren’t fans of gospel might not enjoy songs such as “Garden of Prayer” and “Troubled Waters,” but make no mistake, this is a jazz album. The album’s highlights, such as the dirge “Motherless Child,” are accented, not dominated, by the gospel motif. Cecil Bridgewater turns in an inspired solo on “Let Thy People Go,” an especially grooving tune propelled by Roach and pianist George Cables and lent an ominous heft from the J.C. White Singers. But it’s the Elvin Jones/John Coltrane-esque interplay between Roach and Harper on “Joshua” that makes this album unforgettable — every time the choir comes in, the emotion is enough to crumble the Wall of Jericho. ~ Vincent Thomas, Rovi

Sing Along with Mitch

Sing Along with Mitch

$15.27

No, this is not an album on which veteran jazz pianist Mitchel Forman turns choral leader on a batch of cheery folk songs in the manner of Mitch Miller. Rather, it is a disc on which Forman sticks to his favored instrument in support of vocals. Forman once recorded an album in tribute to his predecessor, Bill Evans, and Sing Along with Mitch has something in common with the duo LPs Evans made with Tony Bennett, except that Forman works with more than one singer here, and the repertoire is quite different. For the most part, the standards from the Great American Songbook favored by Bennett are replaced with soft rock evergreens from the late ’60s and early ‘70s written by and/or associated with the likes of the Beatles, Kenny Loggins, Cat Stevens, Billy Joel, Cyndi Lauper, James Taylor, and the Carpenters. Like any good accompanist, Forman proves to be well attuned to his singers’ styles on these performances, and he tailors his improvisations and embellishments to what the vocals are doing. This means that, for instance, with a breathy, conversational singer like Lizzy Loeb, who does Loggins’ “Celebrate Me Home,” Forman is delicate and lyrical. Like Robbie Wyckoff, he is smooth and soulful on “People Get Ready” and Taylor’s “Close Your Eyes.” But when he is supporting someone who’s more of a jazz singer, say Arnold McCuller on “God Bless the Child” or Joy Burnworth on “A Sleepin’ Bee,” he takes far more liberties. Burnworth may have the album’s greatest challenges. “A Sleepin’ Bee,” from the Broadway musical House of Flowers, has been masterfully done by Barbra Streisand, while “I Won’t Last a Day Without You” is the possession of Karen Carpenter. Burnworth succeeds in making “A Sleepin’ Bee” her own by more or less coming up with a new melody, and Forman is right there with her. “I Won’t Last a Day Without You” is another story, however, as both singer and pianist don’t get far enough away from the Carpenters. On the whole, however, this should be an album for jazz and pop fans familiar with the material to hear it in new and different ways. ~ William Ruhlmann, Rovi

 A Rock N' Roll Christmas

A Rock N’ Roll Christmas

$7.99

PolyGram Special Markets’ 1994 budget compilation A Rock ‘N’ Roll Christmas is a nice little find. Elton John’s relentlessly joyful rocker “Step Into Christmas” is the standout because this album is the easiest to find and most inexpensive source. Old-fashioned rock & roll is represented by Bob Seger’s (technically Bob Seger and the Last Heard) “Sock it to Me Santa,” which borrows more than a little from James Brown’s “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag, Part I”; George Thorogood and the Destroyers’ “Rock and Roll Christmas”; and Chuck Berry’s bluesy “Merry Christmas Baby.” The Moody Blues are often slagged for their elaborate, orchestral brand of pop and progressive rock, but this approach is perfect for “What Child is This?” Fellow prog rockers Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s “I Believe in Father Christmas” is apparently a newly recorded version, because it’s not the stunning take on Works, Vol. 2, nor the equally familiar single that’s heavier on the orchestration and choir. Elvin Bishop’s funky arrangement of “Silent Night” is a surprisingly gutsy rendition of this beloved traditional standard. The meaning of Christmas is given thoughtful, yet lighthearted treatment on the Waitresses’ “Christmas Wrapping” and the Kinks’ “Father Christmas.” Billy Squier’s cheerful sing-along “Christmas Is the Time to Say I Love You” is another hard-to-find treat. The Thorogood, Squier, and Berry tunes are CD-only bonus tracks. ~ Bret Adams, Rovi

Children’s favorites like Angelica from Rugrats and Elmo The Muppet also sing with Rosie on tracks like “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” and “Do You Hear What I Hear.” Gloria Estefan, Donny Osmond, Rosemary Clooney and Billy Porter also make appearances on this warm holiday collection, the proceeds from which go to the For All Kids Foundation. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
